In this Shabad, Dayabai Ji explains the immense spiritual power of Simran, the constant remembrance of God’s Name. She says that receiving the Divine Name through the grace of the Satguru is the greatest blessing because it fulfills the true purpose of human life. Worldly things are temporary and deceptive, but the remembrance of God remains the only lasting support for the soul. Through sincere repetition of the Divine Name, sins, impurities, and inner restlessness gradually disappear.

Spiritual Insight
The Shabad encourages the seeker to remember God continuously while awake, asleep, or engaged in daily life. Dayabai Ji teaches that the human body made of the five elements is temporary and will one day perish, so attachment to it should be reduced while love for God should increase. She beautifully compares the Divine Name to a boat and the Satguru to the boatman who helps souls cross the ocean of worldly existence. In the company of saints and through constant Simran, the mind becomes pure and attains true inner peace and spiritual rest.
