अटक तू क्यों रहा जग में। भटक में क्या मिले भाई॥
Atak tu kyon raha jag mein? Bhatak mein kya mile bhai?
Why are you stuck in this world? What will you gain by wandering, O brother?
खटक तू धार अब मन में। खोज सतसंग में जाई॥
Khatak tu dhaar ab man mein. Khoj satsang mein jaai.
Now firmly decide within and go seek the true company of saints (Satsang).
बिरह की आग जब भड़के। दूर कर जगत की काई॥
Birah ki aag jab bhadke. Door kar jagat ki kaaee.
When the fire of longing blazes, it wipes away the filth of the world.
लगा लो लगन सतगुरु से। मिले फिर शब्द लौ लाई॥
Laga lo lagan Satguru se. Mile phir Shabd lau laai.
Attach your love to the Satguru; you’ll receive the light of the inner Word.
छुटेगा जन्म और मरना। अमर पद जाय तू पाई॥
Chhutega janm aur marna. Amar pad jaay tu paai.
You’ll be released from birth and death and reach the eternal state.
भाग तेरा जगे सोता। नाम और धाम मिल जाई॥
Bhaag tera jage sota. Naam aur Dhaam mil jaai.
When your fortune awakens, you’ll attain the True Name and Eternal Abode.
कहूं क्या काल जग मारा। जीव सब घेर भरमाई॥
Kahun kya Kaal jag maara. Jeev sab gher bharmaai.
Kaal (Time/Death) has ruined the world and trapped souls in illusion.
नहीं कोई मौत से डरता। ख़ौफ़ जम का नहीं लाई॥
Nahin koi maut se darta. Khauf Jam ka nahin laai.
No one fears death or the Lord of Death (Yam) anymore.
पड़े सब मोह की फाँसी। लोभ ने मार धर खाई॥
Pade sab moh ki faansi. Lobh ne maar dhar khaai.
All are caught in attachment; greed has devoured them.
चेत कहो होय अब कैसे। गुरू के संग नहिं धाई॥
Chet kaho hoy ab kaise. Guru ke sang nahin dhaai.
How can they awaken when they haven’t turned toward the Guru?
काम और क्रोध बिच बिच में। जीव से भाड़ झोंकवाई॥
Kaam aur krodh bich bich mein. Jeev se bhaad jhonkwaai.
Lust and anger burn the soul as if tossed into a furnace.
गुरू बिन कोइ नहीं अपना। जाल यह कौन तुड़वाई॥
Guru bin koi nahin apna. Jaal yeh kaun tudwaai?
Without the Guru, no one is truly yours. Who else can break this trap?
कुटुम्ब परिवार मतलब का। बिना धन पास नहिं आई॥
Kutumb parivaar matlab ka. Bina dhan paas nahin aai.
Family is selfish — without wealth, they won’t even stay close.
कहाँ लग कहूं इस मन को। उन्हीं से मास नुचवाई॥
Kahan lag kahun is man ko. Unhi se maans nuchwaai.
Even loved ones can tear your flesh — what to say of this mind?
गुरू और साध कहें बहु बिधि। कहन उनकी न पतियाई॥
Guru aur Saadh kahein bahu bidhi. Kahan unki na patiyaai.
The Guru and saints explain in many ways, but people do not believe.
मेहर बिन क्या कोई माने। कही राधास्वामी यह गाई॥
Mehar bin kya koi maane. Kahi Radhasoami yeh gaai.
Without grace, who will believe? This truth is sung by Radhasoami.
Spiritual Insight
This bani is meant to awaken every soul that is entangled in the world. It conveys the message that only the refuge of Satguru and Satsang can bring liberation and eternal peace to the soul. Kaal, Maya, Moh, Kaam, Krodh – only the one who comes under the grip of Naam and Shabd can cross all these bondages.
